Pricing, timeline & what to expect.

Every home is different, but the overall process is similar. Below are simple, honest answers you can use when talking with family, your electrician, or your accountant.

There isn’t a single “one-size” price because cost depends on:
  • Your annual electricity usage
  • System size (kW) and roof layout
  • Equipment choices (panels, inverters, optional battery)
We don’t use aggressive, high-pressure quotes. Instead, we design a system for your actual usage and roof, then walk you through the price, incentives, and estimated savings before you decide.
A typical residential project has a few stages:
  • Design & proposal: a few days once we have your info
  • Permitting & utility approval: usually a few weeks
  • Installation: 1–3 days of on-site work
  • Final inspection & meter swap: 1–2 weeks
We’ll give you a more specific timeline once we see your roof and know which utility and permitting office we are working with.

We prepare the plans, submit permits, coordinate with the local authority (AHJ), and schedule final inspections and the utility meter change when required.
Most systems include three main pieces of coverage:
  • Panel warranty: typically covers product and power output for many years.
  • Inverter warranty: covers the electronics that convert DC to AC.
  • Workmanship / installation warranty: covers SolVerra’s installation work.
We’ll spell out the exact warranty terms in your proposal so you know who covers what and for how long.
With net metering, extra solar you produce during the day is sent back to the grid. In many areas, your utility gives you a credit for that energy, which helps offset the power you use at night or on cloudy days.

The exact rules depend on your utility and state. We’ll walk you through how net metering works in your area and show it clearly in your proposal.
We work with quality, Tier 1 manufacturers that have strong track records and long-term warranties. Panel options may vary based on availability and project, but we focus on:
  • Reliable long-term performance
  • Solid manufacturer warranty support
  • Good balance of price, efficiency, and appearance
During your quote, we’ll show you exactly which panel models we are proposing for your roof.
The inverter is the “brain” of your system, so we only use brands we trust in the field. Depending on the project, we may propose string inverters or optimizers/microinverters.

We’ll recommend an inverter solution that makes sense for your roof layout, budget, and monitoring preferences — and we’ll explain the differences in plain language.
Not always — but your roof does need to be in good enough condition to support a long-term system.

As a rule of thumb: if your roof is near the end of its life or you already plan to replace it soon, it’s usually better to replace the roof first and then install solar so you don’t have to remove and reinstall panels later.

During our site review, we’ll give you honest feedback and, if needed, coordinate timing with your roofer.
A battery is optional, but it changes what your system can do.
  • Without a battery: Your solar reduces your bill, but for safety, your system shuts off during a grid outage.
  • With a battery: You can back up selected circuits (like fridge, lights, Wi-Fi, or medical equipment) when the grid goes down.
If your main goal is bill savings, solar alone may be enough. If your priority is backup power during outages, then adding a battery is worth discussing.
In many cases, yes. We can design your system with battery-readiness in mind, which may include:
  • Using compatible inverters or hybrid inverters
  • Planning space for backup equipment near your main panel
  • Discussing which circuits you might want backed up in the future
